Spring is the time when familiar and expressive flavours return to the festive table. The Easter basket, meat dishes, fragrant pastries, and spicy horseradish, without which it is hard to imagine traditional Ukrainian cuisine.
It is for this season that Nemiroff presents a limited seasonal release — The Originals “Horseradish.”
The product will be available from March to May in traditional retail, within the Fozzy Group network, as well as on the online platform MAUDAU.
Working with Ukrainian Recipes
In creating this new product, the team continued working with Ukrainian recipe heritage, recreating it in a contemporary interpretation.
In Ukrainian culinary culture, horseradish is an ingredient with deep roots. Distinctive, pungent, and slightly temperamental. This very flavour became the foundation of the new product.
The Path to the Final Decision
Work on the product took longer than it might seem at first glance.
The development process was quite extended over time. The project was paused several times and later resumed. In search of the ideal result, we experimented with different flavour combinations. Ultimately, we chose the classic version — it best conveyed the natural character of the product and preserved its authentic Ukrainian taste. says Olena Ivanusenko, Technologist.
The final decision was deliberate: not to complicate the recipe, but to preserve the purity and expressiveness of the main ingredient.
Horseradish — the Most Sensitive Ingredient
Particular attention was given to raw material quality.
The most sensitive ingredient was horseradish — more precisely, its root, which had to be fresh, not wilted, or dried. We had to develop an internal specification. Although there is a national standard (DSTU) outlining general requirements for this type of raw material, it was not sufficient for producing The Originals ‘Horseradish.’ We needed specific details — from the appearance of the roots to the methods of chopping, infusion, and storage. As a result, the infusion turned out thick, pungent, and intense — with that natural strength that ‘tingles the nose and brings tears to the eye. explains Liliya Nepyyvoda, long-standing expert and member of the tasting panel.
This attention to detail shaped the final flavour profile.
The Tasting Ritual
To fully experience the mood of this product, proper serving matters.
This infusion is so distinctive that it calls for a true ritual — from the table setting and temperature to the tasting technique. The table should feature traditional Ukrainian festive cuisine with aromatic pastries, cured meats, ribs, and pork belly. Then comes a well-chilled bottle, served at 8–10°C. It should be savoured slowly, in small portions, allowing the drink to fully unfold. I believe ‘Horseradish’ works best as an aperitif. says Liliya Petrivna.
Behind every bottle lies not only a recipe, but dozens of tastings, discussions, and carefully made decisions by the team.
The Originals “Horseradish” is the result of collaborative work by technologists, experts, and marketing specialists.
This spring, it returns to the festive table — recognizable, distinctive, and authentic.
